Circumcision
What is a Circumcision?
Circumcision is a surgical procedure that can take about 30 minutes.
Bipolar circumcision: An innovative technique of circumcision for an old procedure with quantified cosmetic outcome.
Bipolar scissors circumcision technique is an effective and safe procedure alternative to the standard scalpel technique with exceptional cosmesis.
Mr Papadopoulos is an expert Urology Consultant who performs bipolar diathermy circumcision technique which is associated with:
• minimal bleeding
• minimal postoperative complications
• exceptional cosmesis.
Depending on the patients preferences, it may be performed under general anaesthesia or localized anaesthesia.
During the procedure Mr Papadopoulos will use Bipolar diathermy scissors to cut the foreskin and then the skin edges will be stitched back to the shaft with sutures.
The penis is wrapped in a protective dressing for 24 hours and the stitches will be dissolved in few days.
In the immediate hours and days after the surgery, you’ll likely experience swelling and bruising on and around the penis. This is to be expected.
Recovery from circumcision typically takes two to three weeks.
You may be able to return to normal physical activity, including exercise, four weeks after the procedure. Sexual intercourse and masturbation may need a bit longer — up to six weeks.
