Bladder biopsies
What is a Bladder biopsy?
A bladder biopsy is a procedure to obtain a sample of the bladder wall. Rigid Cystoscope usually is used to enter the bladder and with another special instrument (biopsy forceps) a small tissue is taken from the suspicious bladder area(lining of the bladder). The area of the biopsy is diathermised to avoid any bleeding and the patient can go home the same day. After the tissue is removed, it is examined under a microscope.
